What We Do
SUPPORTING AND STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS IN THE OCEAN STATE
The Alliance for Nonprofit Impact is Rhode Island's resource hub for nonprofits
The Alliance for Nonprofit Impact was designed to:
- Strengthen nonprofit organizations,
- Support nonprofit staff and help them develop new skills, and
- Improve the ecosystem in which nonprofits work with government, funders and the public
All so that the Ocean State can build flourishing, equitable communities where all Rhode Islanders can thrive.
The Alliance for Nonprofit Impact at United Way of Rhode Island is a place for nonprofit leaders in Rhode Island to connect with peers, to learn and grow professionally, and to access practical tools and resources to support their mission-driven work.
From professional development and training cohorts, practical tools for fundraising and operations, and discounts from a wide variety of educational programs and vendors, the Alliance is working to provide valuable support and resources for the people and organizations that provide support to our communities every day.
The Alliance was also created to be a microphone for the nonprofit sector, to ensure that nonprofits have a seat at the table in the development of policy, legislation, and regulations affecting the sector and the communities they serve.
Launched in January 2024, the Alliance has been progressively rolling out new programs and services to meet the needs of its 450 member organizations and the people who work in them. As Rhode Island's state affiliate for the National Council of Nonprofits, we are able to share resources and trainings from other states and connect to the power of thousands of other nonprofits working to strengthen their own communities across the country.
While all nonprofits are welcome to join the Alliance, we are especially focused on providing valuable support for organizaitons led by BIPOC and smaller organizations.
